The Internet of Things (IoT) is creating a New Way of Living
There have been rapid advancements in technologies and the devices using these, in the recent few years, which have opened up the possibilities for a different way of life in future.
If you haven't yet heard of the Internet of Things (hmm, quite unlikely for many), then you can find a good quick overview in '[Infographic] Understanding The Internet of Things (IoT)' and '[Infographic] The Internet of Things - The Past, Present and the Future'.

Well, can you guess what this is?
Sure, it's a (smart) watch being operated like a conventional watch...
You sure?
Look again - something more is going on here!

Move over drones - here come the flying cars!
Urban living is plagued by driving through traffic on a daily basis, and there's probably no relief in sight for most places, the globe over. While drones (i.e. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) have been in use in special cases, and more recently for delivery everything from your Pizza to the Amazon order, there's probably not much you've heard or seen on this, except in Hollywood sci-fi movies.
Well, there's good news apparently. Check out this vehicle by Terrafugia. Need we say anymore...!

[TED] Shimpei Takahashi: Play this game to come up with original ideas
Excerpt:
Shimpei Takahashi always dreamed of designing toys. But when he started work as a toy developer, he found that the pressure to use data as a starting point for design quashed his creativity. In this short, funny talk, Takahashi describes how he got his ideas flowing again, and shares a simple game anyone can play to generate new ideas. (In Japanese with English subtitles.)

[TED-Ed] Why is ketchup so hard to pour?
Ketchup: Favorite for some, while others, uh well...let's not go there! But, surely if you've had any kind of fast food, or have been with kids at some point in your life, you'd have had to pour out ketchup. But who'd have thought about this basic question: why is it so hard to pour?
You've squeezed, punched, pressed, shaken the container (from the bottle to the sachet), but probably never wondered to figure it out. Well, good for us - the smart people at TED Ed have tried to figure it out, and here's a cool lesson on understanding the why.

[TED] 3 ways the brain creates meaning
Information designer Tom Wujec talks through three areas of the brain
that help us understand words, images, feelings, connections.
In this age of technology - and more and more research is validating the findings - the brain and its power is being compromised. We must not forget that human creativity comes from the immense power and mystery of the way the human mind works.

[TED] A bath without water
Well, if the title of this intrigued you, then you will probably want to watch this interesting talk about an innovation that - yes - makes it possible to have a bath without water!
It might not be something many can identify with, but the fact is, that water, though abundant on our planet's surface, is not easy to get for many, even today. Great idea by Ludwick Marishane - and wish him all the luck to see this be adapted.
